This Is New is a Broadway song composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Ira Gershwin for the 1941 musical Lady in the Dark. In the show, the tune is sung by the characters Liza Elliott and Randy Curtis. It was first performed live on January 23, 1941 by Gertrude Lawrence and Victor Mature, and the first released recording followed in August 1941 with Hildegarde, an orchestra and mixed chorus conducted by Harry Sosnik.
