To Make You Feel My Love is a song written by Bob Dylan for his 1997 album Time Out of Mind. The original track—often described as folk rock—was recorded in January 1997 and appears on Time Out of Mind, produced by Daniel Lanois. It was first released commercially by Billy Joel as To Make You Feel My Love on Greatest Hits Volume III in August 1997, before Dylan’s own Time Out of Mind version came out later that year. Since then the song has become a modern standard, with more than 450 covers by artists such as Adele, Garth Brooks, Bryan Ferry, and Kelly Clarkson. Adele’s 2008 rendition on the album 19 gave the song renewed popularity and chart success, and the tune has continued to appear in television and film soundtracks and in live performances.
