Tokyo Blues is a 1962 jazz album by Horace Silver, released on the Blue Note label. The title track The Tokyo Blues is composed by Silver and the program includes Japanese-inspired titles such as Too Much Sake, Sayonara Blues, Cherry Blossom, and Ah! So, giving the album a Tokyo mood. It was recorded July 13-14, 1962 at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs and released in early November 1962. The quartet features Horace Silver on piano with Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Junior Cook on tenor sax, Gene Taylor on bass, and Joe Harris on drums. The genre is hard bop jazz.
