Turbilhão is a Brazilian samba ballad written by Toquinho and Vinícius de Moraes. The tune was released in 1977 as the B-side of the French Philips 7-inch single Samba Da Volta / Turbilhão, performed by Toquinho and Vinícius de Moraes. It belongs to MPB and Samba genres, and its lyrics invite a lover to lose themselves in a whirlpool of passion and to follow the heart’s desires, even if it means suffering, contrasting those who think too much with those who live for love. The track later appeared on the 1998 compilation 20 Grandes Sucessos de Toquinho e Vinicius. It is closely associated with the Toquinho & Vinícius duo and is noted for its melodic guitar and romantic storytelling.
