Ventos do Norte is a Brazilian MPB ballad by Djavan, from his debut album Djavan released in 1976. The lyrics tell of a mysterious arrival, perhaps from the north winds or a growing tide, and of falling in love at first sight, with the narrator taking the place of king. The love is so strong that it feels like a prayer surrounding him, and the sea and winds seem to return the sentiment. A memory lingers as the hem of a skirt is left on white sand, and there is a refrain of walking the edge of emotion without crying. The composer is Djavan Caetano Viana. A later live version appears on D Ao Vivo Maceió in 2024, featuring a new intimate arrangement of voice and guitar, showcasing the song in a raw, acoustic setting.
