Vivo Sonhando, also known as Dreamer, is a 1962 bossa nova song written by Antônio Carlos Jobim with Portuguese lyrics—English lyrics were added later by Gene Lees. The first recording was by Os Cariocas in 1963, and Jobim recorded an instrumental version in 1963 for his debut album The Composer of Desafinado Plays, followed by a vocal English version on Terra Brasilis in 1980. In 1990, Susannah McCorkle received permission from Jobim to record an English-language version titled Living on Dreams. The tune is a classic in the bossa nova genre and has been covered by numerous artists in both instrumental and vocal forms.
