Yesterday Once More is a 1973 pop song by The Carpenters, from the album Now & Then. Written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, the track nostalgically recalls songs from a bygone era and then launches into a long medley of eight 1960s hits presented as an oldies radio program on the album’s B-side. The single peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, topped the Easy Listening chart, and became The Carpenters’ biggest selling single worldwide as well as a major hit in the UK. The Carpenters’ sound on the track features Karen Carpenter on lead and backing vocals with Richard providing piano and orchestration. Richard Carpenter has said the song was his favorite to write.
