"Butterfly Dreams" is a song with music by Stanley Clarke and English lyrics by Neville Potter. Clarke recorded it for his debut album, Children of Forever, released by Polydor in 1973 after sessions in December 1972. It is the first track on side B of that album. The original recording features Clarke on double bass and bass guitar, with Chick Corea on electric piano, piano and clavinet, Pat Martino on electric and 12-string guitar, Lenny White on drums and tambourine, and Arthur Webb on flute. Dee Dee Bridgewater and Andy Bey provide the vocals. Other recordings include a 1973 version by Flora Purim, on an album that also bears the title Butterfly Dreams, and one by Norman Connors. The album is classified as jazz, with soul-jazz and fusion elements.
