"Mimi" is a popular song with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart, published in 1932. It was featured in the film Love Me Tonight (1932), directed by Rouben Mamoulian, where Maurice Chevalier first sang it to Jeanette MacDonald and the entire company then reprised it. The film's French title is Aimez-moi ce soir, and the song is sung in English. Chevalier's recording was issued as a 78 rpm single on Victor (catalogue number 24063), with "The Poor Apache" on the other side. In the 1950s, John Serry's arrangement was featured on Seeburg jukeboxes. Sergio Franchi performed the song on the ABC television special Victor Borge at Carnegie Hall, dated January 2, 1964, and recorded it for his 1963 RCA Victor Red Seal album Women in My Life. Later versions include those by Dean Martin (1962), Tony Bennett (1972) and Coleman Hawkins, along with many jazz and orchestral recordings.
