Jeannine is a jazz standard with music by the American pianist and composer Duke Pearson (1932–1980) and lyrics by Oscar Brown Jr., who wrote vocalese words to Pearson's melody. Vocalese is the practice of setting words to an existing jazz melody or solo. The instrumental was first recorded on 11 November 1960 by Donald Byrd with Pepper Adams, Duke Pearson and others. The Cannonball Adderley Quintet also recorded the piece in 1960, and Eddie Jefferson recorded the vocalese version.
The song is listed among post-1950 jazz standards under 1960, credited to Pearson. It later appeared on the album Man-Tora! Live in Tokyo, where the track is credited to Pearson and Brown Jr.
