Romantique Voyage is an instrumental jazz guitar piece written and recorded by the French guitarist Raphaël Faÿs, who was born in 1959 and is credited as its writer. The tune was released in 1996 as track 11 on his album Sans Domicile Fixe, issued by GHA Records in Belgium, and runs about 3:24. The album sits in the gypsy jazz and swing tradition, and the piece is built as a guitar-led melody with a romantic, travelling mood.
The song has no lyrics, so the guitar alone carries both the melody and the travelling mood. Within the album it sits among the other tracks in the same gypsy jazz and swing style, and Faÿs is credited as both writer and performer, which creates a direct link between composer and recording.
