"You Gonna Need My Help" is a Chicago blues song credited to Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield, 1913–1983) as both composer and lyricist, with the words sung in English. Waters's original performance was first released as a single around September 1950. The song is also catalogued under the variant titles "Your Gonna Need My Help 'I Said'" and "You're Gonna Need My Help, I Said".
Beyond its writing credit and original release, little else about the song's background is documented, and it is best known through Waters's recording. Later versions by other artists exist, but the original single remains the reference point for the piece.
