Ahmid-6 is an instrumental jazz tune in the key of C, composed by Pat Metheny, who is its sole credited writer. As an instrumental, it has no lyrics. The tune is classed under jazz, in the post bop and contemporary jazz styles, and its title is written with a hyphen before the number 6.
The piece is documented in a recording by Pat Metheny and Brad Mehldau, made on 12 September 2006. It appears as track 2 on the album Metheny Mehldau, released in 2006 on the Nonesuch label, on which the two musicians play together. Both musicians are named in the entry for that recording.
