"It's Easy to Remember (And So Hard to Forget)", usually shortened to "It's Easy to Remember", is a 1935 popular song with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorenz Hart. It was written for the 1935 Paramount film Mississippi, starring Bing Crosby and W.C. Fields, and Crosby introduced it in the film. His recording for Decca Records, made on February 21, 1935, with Georgie Stoll and his Orchestra, the Rhythmettes and the Three Shades of Blue, topped the charts of the day. Crosby re-recorded the song in 1954 for the album Bing: A Musical Autobiography.
It is a ballad-style standard that has since been recorded by many singers and instrumentalists, among them Billie Holiday (1958), Frank Sinatra (1957), John Coltrane (1962), Fred Astaire (1976) and Rosemary Clooney (1978).
