"She" is a song with music by Charles Aznavour and English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer. It was written in English as the theme tune of the British television series Seven Faces of Woman, and it is the English version of Aznavour's French song "Tous les visages de l'amour" ("All the Faces of Love"). Released as a single sung by Aznavour in 1974 on the Barclay label, with "La Barraka" on the B-side, it runs 2:50 and is a pop recording. Aznavour also recorded it in French, German ("Sie"), Italian ("Lei") and Spanish ("Es"), and he recorded a more uptempo French version with different lyrics, "Elle".
In the United Kingdom the 1974 single reached number 1 for four weeks, and it reached number 1 in Ireland for one week. It was certified silver for shipments over 300,000. In France it narrowly missed the top 40, and it did not chart on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song opens the film Notting Hill. Elvis Costello's 1999 cover, produced by Trevor Jones, was used over the film's final sequence and became very popular in Europe. Laura Pausini is among the many other singers who have covered it.
