"The Best Is Yet to Come" is a 1959 English-language vocal standard with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh. It belongs to the jazz and traditional pop idiom and has a swing feel. Tony Bennett is credited with introducing it. The original recording is by Jesse Belvin with Marty Paich and His Orchestra, made on 8 December 1959 and released on the album Mr. Easy in 1960. Cy Coleman performed the song on Hugh Hefner's Playboy's Penthouse before Frank Sinatra's version, which popularized it. Sinatra recorded it with Count Basie and Quincy Jones for the 1964 album It Might as Well Be Swing, and his last public performance of the song was in 1995.
Other notable recordings include those by Blossom Dearie (1964), Ella Fitzgerald (1982), Michael Bublé (2007) and Bob Dylan (2017). The song was used in the final scene of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Badda-Bing Badda-Bang" (1999), and it was played as the Apollo 10 crew's wake-up call in 1969.
