"There's a Lull in My Life" is a 1937 song with lyrics by Mack Gordon and music by Harry Revel, written for the 20th Century-Fox film Wake Up and Live. It is described as a torch ballad. Alice Faye introduced it in the film and released it as a single in 1937 on the Brunswick label, with the title song "Wake Up and Live" on the B-side; the recording became her only major hit record. Other popular versions from 1937 came from Teddy Wilson, with a vocal by Helen Ward, George Hall and His Orchestra, and Duke Ellington, with a vocal by Ivie Anderson. Later performers include Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Johnny Hartman, Anita O'Day, Kay Starr, Diane Keaton and Tony Bennett. The song is listed on the album Wake Up and Live.
