Love Walked In is a song with music by George Gershwin and lyrics by Ira Gershwin. George Gershwin composed the tune in 1930, and Ira wrote the lyric in 1937 for the movie musical The Goldwyn Follies (1938), in which the character Danny Beecher sings it on screen, performed by Kenny Baker. Early recordings followed in 1938, among them versions by Jan Garber and His Orchestra, whose single was issued on 11 January that year, and by Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Dorsey and Felix Knight with Leo Reisman, as well as by Kenny Baker himself. Sammy Kaye also had a hit with the song in 1938. In later years it was recorded by The Hilltoppers (1953), Ella Fitzgerald (1959), The Flamingos (1959) and Dinah Washington (1960), and Artie Shaw recorded it in the early 1940s.
