"Feels So Good" is an instrumental composition by the American flugelhorn player Chuck Mangione, who wrote and produced it. It is the title track of his 1977 album Feels So Good, released on A&M on 8 December 1977 and recorded at Kendun Recorders in Burbank, California. The album version runs about 9:43, while the single, issued in February 1978 with "Maui-Waui" on the B-side, runs 3:31. The single reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1978, after a week at No. 1 on the Billboard easy listening chart, and it also reached No. 5 in Canada and New Zealand. It was nominated for Record of the Year at the 1979 ceremony. The original recording features Mangione on flugelhorn and electric piano, with Chris Vadala on saxophones, Grant Geissman on guitar, Charles Meeks on electric bass and James Bradley Jr. on drums. Mangione later re-recorded it as a slow ballad with vocals by Don Potter for his 1982 album 70 Miles Young. Other versions include those by James Last and Laurindo Almeida, both from 1979, and Meco's medley "Hooked on Funk" from 1983. In 1979 Mangione performed the song in a Memorex commercial with Ella Fitzgerald. It also appears in Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Zombieland and Doctor Strange, and it was often referenced in King of the Hill.
