Tchavolo Swing is an instrumental gypsy jazz tune written in the manouche style of Django Reinhardt and set in the key of G. It is usually credited to Dorado Schmitt, although some sheet music names Tchavolo Schmitt as composer. It has no lyrics, and it is a swing standard of the gypsy jazz repertoire, played by guitar-led quintets and trios.
The first known recording is by Gypsy Reunion, a 1993 group led by the cousins Tchavolo and Dorado Schmitt, released on the album Swing 93 (Djaz Records), where the track is spelled "Tschawolo Swing". Later versions include recordings by Hot Club of Cowtown, Zazu, Djamano, Quartet San Francisco, Hot Club of LA and The Bailsmen.
