"So Real" is a song by Jeff Buckley, written by Buckley and Michael Tighe, a guitarist who joined the project late in the recording and brought the main riff of the verses. Buckley recorded it in 1993 at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, New York, with production by Buckley and Andy Wallace. It appears as track 5 on the album Grace, released in 1994 by Columbia, where the vocal was recorded in one take. The song runs 4:43 and is listed under the genres alternative rock, psychedelic rock and post-rock.
In June 1995 it was released as the third single from Grace, between "Last Goodbye" (1994) and "Eternal Life" (1995), and a commercial CD single was issued in Australia. The music video, directed by Sophie Muller and filmed in New York City, was shown at Buckley's funeral in 1997.
