"I See Your Face Before Me" is a popular song with music by Arthur Schwartz and lyrics by Howard Dietz. It was written for the 1937 Broadway musical Between the Devil, where Evelyn Laye and Adele Dixon introduced it. Shortly after the show opened, recordings by Guy Lombardo & His Royal Canadians and Glen Gray & the Casa Loma Orchestra reached the charts, at number 12 and number 13 respectively.
Nelson Riddle wrote a first arrangement of the song in 1938 and later arranged it for Frank Sinatra's 1955 album In the Wee Small Hours. Johnny Hartman's 1980 recording was heard on the soundtrack of the 1995 film The Bridges of Madison County. Other recordings include those by Mildred Bailey, Bing Crosby, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Dave Brubeck, Doris Day, John Coltrane, Carmen McRae and Andy Williams. A classic of the pop and jazz standard repertoire, the song is widely recorded as a ballad, with English lyrics.
