"You Keep Coming Back Like a Song" is a popular song by Irving Berlin, who wrote both the words and the music. It was written for the 1946 American musical film Blue Skies, in which Bing Crosby sang it. Dinah Shore's recording, made in June 1946 and released as a single on 26 August 1946, was the biggest US hit of the song, reaching No. 5. Crosby recorded it for Decca on 18 July 1946, with "Getting Nowhere" on the B-side; his version peaked at No. 12, and Jo Stafford's reached No. 11. The song was nominated for Best Song at the 1946 Academy Awards but lost to "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe". Later recordings include versions by Georgia Gibbs (1946), Ella Fitzgerald (1958, on the Irving Berlin Songbook), Red Garland (1969, on Prestige) and Maude Maggart (2005). The song is generally classed as popular music, easy listening and pop.
