As Long as I Live is a song with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Ted Koehler, written for the 1934 Cotton Club Parade, which was the last show at the Cotton Club Parade. Avon Long and Lena Horne introduced it, and its first live performance is dated 24 March 1934. It is a jazz standard. Early recordings include one by Lew Stone and His Band with a vocal by Al Bowlly in 1934, and another by Red McKenzie and Spirit of Rhythm, issued by Decca on 11 September 1934. Benny Goodman and His Orchestra recorded it for Columbia in May 1934. In November 1940, Benny Goodman and His Sextet, with Count Basie and Charlie Christian, recorded it.
