Ceora is an instrumental jazz composition by the American trumpeter Lee Morgan (1938-1972), who is its only credited writer. The tune has no lyrics. Morgan recorded it for Blue Note on September 18, 1965, at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and it was first released as the third track of the album Cornbread, issued in late January 1967 and produced by Alfred Lion. The session featured Jackie McLean on alto saxophone, Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone, Herbie Hancock on piano, Larry Ridley on bass and Billy Higgins on drums. The recording runs about six minutes and twenty-three seconds. The album is usually classed as hard bop and post bop.
The tune is widely considered a jazz standard. Later versions include recordings by Frank Morgan, Eddie Henderson, Fabrizio Bosso and Jesse Davis.
