"Still A Fool" is a slow-to-medium blues written and recorded by Muddy Waters, who is credited as both composer and lyricist. He recorded it as Muddy Waters and His Guitar on 11 July 1951, and Chess released it as a single that September, backed by "My Fault". The record reached number nine on the Billboard R&B chart, more successful than "Rollin' Stone", which reused the song's vocal melody and guitar figure. Little Walter plays second guitar on the recording, and Leonard Chess plays bass drum. Later versions of "Rollin' Stone" and "Catfish Blues" often reuse its lyrics, sometimes called "Two Trains Running" after the opening verse. The song has been recorded by many artists, among them John Hammond, the Butterfield Blues Band, the Blues Project, Groundhogs, George Thorogood and Dave Van Ronk.
