"Dewey Square" is a jazz tune in E-flat by the bebop saxophonist Charlie Parker. It is instrumental, with no lyrics. It is a bebop contrafact, a new melody written over the chord changes of "Oh, Lady Be Good!" by George and Ira Gershwin, from the 1924 musical "Lady, Be Good!". The melody is new, while the harmony follows the familiar structure. Parker recorded it on 28 October 1947 with his quintet for Dial Records at WOR Studios in New York City. The lineup was Miles Davis on trumpet, Duke Jordan on piano, Tommy Potter on bass and Max Roach on drums. Later versions include those by Lou Donaldson (1958), Jimmy Heath, Barbara Dennerlein and Joe Lovano.
