"Marcia Baila" (also spelled "Marcia Baïla") is a 1984 song by the French duo Les Rita Mitsouko, credited to Chichin/Ringer: Catherine Ringer wrote the lyrics and music, and Fred Chichin is credited for the music. Despite the Spanish title, the lyrics are in French, sung with a forced Spanish accent because Ringer does not speak Spanish. It is a tribute to Argentine dancer Marcia Moretto, a friend of the band who died of breast cancer in 1983. It was the third single from the debut album Rita Mitsouko (April 1984, Virgin), produced by Conny Plank and the band, with "Jalousie" on the B-side. The release is dated April 1984, though some sources date the single to 1985.
In France it peaked at No. 2 on the SNEP chart for three weeks and was certified gold. At the 1990 Victoires de la musique it was named the second-best French song of the 1980s. It is one of the band's signature songs and was played at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Covers include Los Del Sol (1997), Ricky Martin (1998), Christer (2002) and Nouvelle Vague (2010). Its genres are pop, new wave, rock and electronic, and its styles are new wave and synth-pop. It has also been used in the films Vagabond (1985), Belle Maman (1999) and The Witnesses (2007).
