"Someday You'll Be Sorry" is a jazz standard and swing tune credited to Louis Armstrong as its writer. Armstrong recorded it with his All Stars in New York City on June 10, 1947, and the performance was issued that year as a single on Victor, under the shorter title "Some Day" (catalogue number 20-2530). Since then the song has been recorded by many artists, among them Lee Wiley, Kenny Ball, Earl Hines, Eddie Condon, Ruby Braff, Harry Connick, Jr. and Charlie Watts. Its place in the repertoire rests on these recordings, from Armstrong's own version onward, which show how well the tune has lent itself to different jazz groups and singers over the decades.
