Desert Air is an instrumental jazz composition by Chick Corea, credited to him as sole writer. Its original recording is a duet by Gary Burton on vibraphone and Corea on piano, first released in 1973 on the ECM album Crystal Silence. The album was recorded in November 1972, and Desert Air is its fourth track. With no other instruments present, the two players share the full texture of the performance.
The piece is known as a quiet, intimate conversation between piano and vibraphone. Corea (1941 to 2021) and Burton (born 1943) are both jazz musicians, and the work has been recorded by others since, including a 1991 version by Traut and Rodby.
