I Wonder Where My Baby Is Tonight is a popular song of the 1920s, with music by Walter Donaldson and lyrics by Gus Kahn. Published in New York in 1925, it was first recorded by Billy Jones on 13 October 1925. Lee Morse recorded it the same year, and Jack Hylton and His Orchestra and Ben Selvin and His Orchestra followed in 1926, as did Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra, whose recording is dated 15 January 1926.
The Goofus Five issued an instrumental version in 1926. In 1939 the Quintet of the Hot Club of France, with Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelly, gave the tune a gypsy jazz treatment. Later versions include Spike Jones and His City Slickers (1950) and Dinah Shore (1951).
