"Indifférence" is a French musette waltz composed by Joseph Colombo (1900-1973), with accordionist Tony Murena (1915-1971) also credited as a writer in some listings. It was recorded in Paris on 30 May 1942 by Tony Murena et son ensemble swing and issued as a 78 rpm single on the Odéon label, coupled with "Passion". The piece is instrumental, with no lyrics, and is considered one of Murena's masterpieces and one of the most famous works of his career.
It became a standard of the musette and jazz repertoire and has been performed by many jazz, gypsy jazz (manouche) and tango players, including Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, Louis Ferrari, Roland Dyens, and Didier Lockwood with Marcel Azzola. Its form is that of a musette waltz.
