"Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" is a song by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Lorenz Hart, written for the 1940 Rodgers and Hart musical Pal Joey. Vivienne Segal introduced it in the Broadway production, where it is sung in Act I and reprised in Act II, and it was published in 1941 by Chappell & Co. The sheet title is "Bewitched", and the song is now part of the Great American Songbook. Segal recorded it for a 1950 hit, and Carol Bruce performed it in the 1954 London production. Several versions charted in 1950, among them recordings by Doris Day with The Mellomen, Gordon Jenkins with Bonnie Lou Williams, and Jan August with The Harmonicats. In 2003 Rod Stewart and Cher recorded a duet single from Stewart's album As Time Goes By: The Great American Songbook, Volume II, which reached No. 17 on the US Adult Contemporary chart. The song is mentioned several times in the television series Dynasty as the favourite song of Blake and Alexis. Jazz and vocal standard versions have been recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand and Lady Gaga.
