"Let's Fall in Love" is a song with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Ted Koehler, written for the 1933 film of the same name and published that year by Irving Berlin, Inc. In the film it is heard during the opening credits and later sung by Art Jarrett and chorus, and by Ann Sothern. The major hit at the time of its introduction was by Eddy Duchin, with a vocal by Lew Sherwood. The song was originally written in C major and marked "Moderately Bright". As a jazz standard it is usually played with a medium swing beat.
Later recordings include versions by Ella Fitzgerald (1959 and 1961), Frank Sinatra (1961, arranged by Johnny Mandel), Shirley Bassey (1962), Peaches & Herb (1966, a US R&B and pop hit), Robin Sarstedt (1976) and Diana Krall (1999). The song has also been used in the films Slightly French (1949), It Should Happen to You (1954), Divorce American Style (1967) and Plots with a View (2002).
