Irresistible You is a popular song with music by Gene de Paul and English lyrics by Don Raye. Its first theatrical release took place on 19 January 1944. Early recordings followed that year: Ginny Simms and Johnnie Johnston recorded it in March, and Woody Herman with Frances Wayne in May. The original performance is by Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra, with Skip Nelson and The Tommy Dorsey Quartet, recorded in July 1944. The song is in the key of F and belongs to the jazz-standard repertoire of the era. Later versions include those by Mark Murphy (1956), June Christy (1957), Byron Lee and The Dragonaires (1962), Trini Lopez (1964) and Ruth Price (1983). Several jazz instrumentalists have also recorded it, among them Jackie Davis, Jimmy Knepper, Hal McKusick and Milt Buckner. Ziggy Elman recorded it in 1951.
