"Fix You" is a 2005 song by the British rock band Coldplay, credited to all four members: Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion. It was produced by Ken Nelson, Danton Supple and the band, and first appeared on the album X&Y in June 2005. Released as the album's second single on 5 September 2005 by Parlophone in the UK and Capitol in the US, it reached number 4 in the UK Singles Chart and in Australia, and number 59 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is in E-flat major at 69 beats per minute, in 4/4. It opens on a church-style organ with piano and acoustic guitar, then moves to a bridge with full band, drums and strings, leading into a singalong chorus. It became the anthem of Live 8 in July 2005 and was performed on Saturday Night Live that year. Critics widely acclaimed it, and Pitchfork called it an AOR ballad. It was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award and a UK Festival Award, and ranked number 2 in the Top 2000 in 2024. Covers include versions by Sam Smith (2020), BTS (2021) and Ed Sheeran with Coldplay (2021).
