"I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket" is a popular song by Irving Berlin, who wrote both the music and the lyrics. It was written for the 1936 film Follow the Fleet, in which Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers introduced it. Astaire had a hit with the song in 1936, as did versions by Jan Garber, with a vocal by Fritz Heilbron, and by Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians, with a vocal refrain by Carmen Lombardo, recorded on 21 January 1936. Louis Armstrong and the Boswell Sisters also recorded it that year. Later recordings include Bing Crosby's version, cut from the film, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, whose 1945 performance was released in 1987, Carmen McRae's, and Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's from 1957. Swing and jazz treatments are common, and Diane Schuur with B.B. King and Stacey Kent have also recorded the song.
