"I'm Tore Down" (also "Tore Down") is a blues song credited to Sonny Thompson as writer, although it is often attributed to Freddie King. King, billed as "Freddy" King, recorded it for Federal Records in 1961, and it was released as a single that October, backed by the instrumental "Sen-Sa-Shun". It reached number five on Billboard's Hot R&B Sides chart and was included on his first album, Freddy King Sings (1961). In 1971 King recorded a longer version for Shelter Records' album Getting Ready... Eric Clapton's 1994 recording for the blues album From the Cradle stays close to King's arrangement, including its falsetto vocal phrases and guitar fills. The Reprise promo CD single of that version reached number five on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Clapton has also performed the song live on Live in Hyde Park (1997) and John Mayall's 70th Birthday Concert (2003). Gary Moore recorded a studio version for How Blue Can You Get (2021). Other artists to record it include Alexis Korner, John Hammond, Magic Sam, Dr. Feelgood, The Jeff Healey Band, Rory Gallagher, Leslie West and Wanda Jackson.
