Não Deixe o Samba Morrer (also catalogued as Nao Deixe o Samba Morrer) is a Portuguese-language Brazilian samba composed by Edson Conceição and Aloísio Silva. Alcione recorded it in 1975, and the recording was first released on her first studio album, A Voz do Samba. The song became a chart hit at the start of 1976, after the album's release, and it has been recorded by a number of artists since.
Other versions include those by Os Caretas (1975), Fred Bongusto (1979), Elza Soares with Marku Ribas and Banda Luar de Prata (2008), Os Originais do Samba (2013) and Roberto Leal with Alcione (2014). Together these versions span four decades, from the 1970s to the 2010s, with Alcione's original recording as the starting point.
