"Brake's Sake" is an instrumental jazz composition by Thelonious Monk. The tune has no lyrics. The original recording was made by the Gigi Gryce Quartet on 15 October 1955 and first released on the album "Gigi Gryce". Monk recorded the piece himself in 1964. Later versions include those by Buell Neidlinger's String Jazz (1988), Wynton Marsalis (1999), Ben Riley's Monk Legacy Septet (2006) and Roy Assaf (2012). The tune is classified as jazz, in the swing style.
