"Troublant Bolero" (also "Troublant boléro") is a French-language song in bolero form, classed as jazz and associated with the gypsy jazz style. Django Reinhardt wrote the music, and Jacques Larue wrote the French lyrics. Reinhardt recorded it with his Quintette in Paris on 30 January 1952, and the recording was first released on a single, "Nuits de Saint-Germain-des-Prés".
The song has lyrics, but most later recordings are instrumental, so the melody and the bolero form carry the piece without the words. Versions have been made by the Hot Club de Norvège, the Rosenberg Trio, Biréli Lagrène, Angelo Debarre, Joscho Stephan, Stephane Wrembel and Andreas Öberg. Players should note the bolero form and the French lyrics if they want to sing it.
