All Through the Night is a 1934 show tune by Cole Porter from the musical Anything Goes. The original performers were William Gaxton and Betina Hume, and the melody features a descending chromatic scale starting on the third, interrupted by an octave leap after four bars. It became a popular standard with hit versions in 1935 by Paul Whiteman (vocal Bob Lawrence) and by Harry Rosenthal (vocal Helen Ward). Notable later recordings include Bing Crosby on the Anything Goes soundtrack (1956), Ella Fitzgerald in Sings the Cole Porter Songbook (1956), Julie London (1965), Johnny Mathis (1957), Johnnie Ray (1958), Andy Williams (1966), and Bill Charlap (1998). The Prodigy sampled the tune on The Day Is My Enemy (2015).
