Falling Grace is a jazz composition by the American composer and bassist Steve Swallow, born in 1940. The original recording was made by vibraphonist Gary Burton in April 1966 in New York, with Swallow on bass and Larry Bunker on drums. It is the eighth of ten tracks on the album The Time Machine, released by RCA Victor, and runs about four minutes. The song is instrumental, with no lyrics. The album's master listing classifies the track under jazz, in the post-bop style.
Later recordings include a 1975 version by Bill Evans and Eddie Gomez and a 1999 version by Jim Hall and Pat Metheny. Evans had earlier recorded the song on his 1974 album Intuition. Vocal versions have been made by Octavox (1990), Barbara Montgomery (1998) and Laura Poldvere with Tonu Naissoo (2012). The song is also credited on albums including Crystal Silence and Paris Encounter.
