"All at Once You Love Her" is a ballad by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, written for Pipe Dream, the seventh Rodgers musical and a Rodgers & Hammerstein production. The show was based on John Steinbeck's 1954 novel Sweet Thursday, a sequel to Cannery Row. It opened on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre on 30 November 1955 and closed on 30 June 1956 after 245 performances. In Act 1, Doc (William Johnson) and Suzy (Judy Tyler), joined by Esteban, sing it during their first date, at a dinner where Doc wears an unaccustomed necktie and Suzy tries to act like a lady. Fauna sings a reprise in Act 2. The lyrics are in English. The original performance featured William Johnson, Judy Tyler and Jerry LaZarre. Perry Como recorded the song during the run, and his version was popular. Later recordings were made by Buddy Greco, Vince Hill, Stan Kenton, Kai Winding and J.J. Johnson.
The show received moderate reviews, and Brooks Atkinson called it a pleasant, lazy romance. The cast album was released by RCA Victor.
